Building from Source

Download the latest release tarball from the sourceforge mirrors (release notes):

• gnome-subtitles-0.9.tar.gz

(Older versions are still available.)

To build:

1. Extract with `tar xvfz gnome-subtitles-X.Y.Z.tar.gz'
2. Build with `./configure' followed by `make'
3. To try the program without installing it, `cd' to the `build' dir and run `mono gnome-subtitles.exe'
4. Install with `make install'
5. Run with `gnome-subtitles' or use the icon in the Gnome Menu
