Gnome Subtitles is a subtitle editor for the GNOME desktop. It supports the most common
text-based subtitle formats and allows for subtitle editing, translation and synchronization.

Timing operations:

  • Synchronize by setting 2 or more correct times / sync points
  • Auto-adjust timings based on 2 correct times / sync points
  • Shift subtitles by a specified delay (which can be based on the video)
  • Convert between framerates
  • Set input and output framerates
  • Edit times and frames

  • Character coding and subtitle format auto-detection (on opening)
  • Allow to manually choose from multiple character codings
  • Allow to choose the type of newline to be used when saving
  • Relaxed subtitle parsing, to read subtitles that contain errors
